Dear Conference Guests,
Welcome to the inaugural Eastern Shore Fatherhood and Reentry Conference, held inside at Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Intergenerational Center in beautiful Cambridge, Maryland. The conference committee extends to you our sincere appreciation that you have given of your time to be with us. We have assembled presenters from across the region, advocates, educators, pastors, government officials and business owners in the hopes of drawing attention to the pressing issue of the impact that fathers make on the family unit. We hope that your network will be expanded, that you’ll make connections that will further the work that you are doing in the community. We hope that those of you who may be looking for assistance will find one of our community vendors who can meet you at the level of your need. This conference hopes to explore those services and support systems desperately needed for returning citizens. We know that over 92% of incarcerated people will one day be released. But unfortunately, 68% will be re-arrested within the first three (3) years.  This conference may not have all the answer, but we are asking the questions. How can we come together to make a difference.
